“No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford" - Samuel Johnson, September 20, 1777.

It is said that a bad day in London is still better than a good day anywhere else and we couldn’t agree more. Having met each other simply by chance in Soho some twenty years ago, it will always needless to say, hold a special place in our hearts. There are already numerous guides written about the metropolis we used to call home, so we have chosen to instead celebrate the birthplace of Absintheminded with a simple love letter.

We love the energy, the contrasts and the sense of style.

We love the gentleness of Kew Gardens and the noise of Broadway Market.

We love the third wave coffee shops and the centuries-old public houses. We love the tea rooms and the gin palaces. We love the traditional bangers and the bold modern cooking.

We love the ever-burgeoning creative spirit of East London. We love the wide and eclectic range of architecture. We even love standing in doorways dodging the ubiquitous rain showers.

Above all, we love spending long and lazy Sundays at the museums followed by sharing comfort food with near and dear - oh, let us count the ways.
